History
Founded in June 1946, Omaha was the 51st chapter in the JACL. Approximately 35 persons signed a JACL chapter activation petition at a meeting on June 26, 1946, chaired by Patrick Okura. JACL national secretary Masao Satow gave an update on the programs and activities of the national JACL. A nominating committee consisting of Masako Nakadoi, Kay Ikebasu, Max Hanamoto, Lily Okura and Kazuo Takechi was appointed to identify candidates to serve on the board of directors.
