Washington DC Leadership Conference
March 5-9, 2010

Established in 1984, this four-day program introduces community leaders to the national policy-making arena. The Conference is structured to provide a broad overview of the decision-making process at the federal level, including meetings and briefings by public officials and key policymakers in Congress, the White House and federal agencies. JACL Midwest District chapters should send completed applications to the Midwest Office by January 8, 2010.

2010 National Scholarships
The 2010 National JACL Scholarship Program’s information brochure and applications are now posted on the National JACL website. The scholarship categories are Freshman, Undergraduate, Graduate, Law, Creative & Performing Arts, and Financial Aid.

NPS Confinement Sites Grant Program
December 2, 2009

Chicago, IL - The National Park Service (NPS) hosted a meeting at the Chicago JACL office on December 1 to solicit comments on the Confinement Sites Grants that will be available in 2010. The Confinement Sites Grants Program administered by NPS funded 19 projects in 2009 totaling $970,000. In 2010, NPS will allocate $3 million in grants.
